Weapons of Grass Destruction is a golf outing to benefit T.A.P.S. - Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors - a non-profit Veterans Service Organization offering compassionate care to all those grieving the loss of a loved one who died while serving in our Armed Forces or as a result of his or her service.
On Memorial Day we remember those who gave their lives defending
our freedom, but who is there to take care of those they left behind?
Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (T.A.P.S.), is a nonprofit
organization which helps families of fallen service members with
counseling, mentoring and scholarships.
Weapons of Grass Destruction golf outing will be held on Saturday
June 5, 2021, at Horicon Hills Golf Course, located at 3000 S. Main St.
Horicon, WI 53032. Let’s all give thanks by honoring not only their
ultimate sacrifice, but their families sacrifice as well, showing that
no one is forgotten. Our inaugural event was held in 2019, where we
were able to raise $8,000 dollars for T.A.P.S. with the help of 96
golfers, sponsors, and donors. The event ended up being cancelled in
2020 due to COVID restrictions but we still sent $2,000 to T.A.P.S.
from sponsors. We hope that you can come out to make this year’s
event even better than our first.
This event includes 18 holes of golf with a cart, some optional
event holes on the course, along with traditional event holes, like
longest putt, and shortest drive. You will receive a gift bag to start
off your day, a burger or brat lunch, and a delicious catered meal
to complete it. Sponsorships are available and donations (prizes
or cash) are appreciated. Remember we only have enough room
for 36 teams (144 golfers), so sign up soon while spots are still
open.
The full event will be $75.00 per person. Sign in and warm up
starting at 9:00 am. Cart line up at 11:30 am with shotgun start at
12:00 noon. The event is rain or shine.
